Happy National Dog Day!

Variety-of-Dogs

To us, everyday is dog day! But on August 26, everyone around the nation celebrates National Dog Day. It’s a time to appreciate the pooch in your life or admire the hound next door. Honestly, it’s just an excuse to look at photos of cute dogs online, though, right?

But in all honesty,A dog is man’s best friend, and we truly believe that!

This day  encourages dog ownership of all breeds, mixed and pure, and embraces the opportunity for all dogs to live a happy, safe and “abuse-free life”.   Dogs give us companionship, they keep us safe and they aid those in need.  It is a goal, for many on National Dog Day, to find homes for all dogs in need of a loving family.  The goal of the National Dog Day foundation is to rescue 10,000 dogs each year.

Here are 5 ways to celebrate National Pooch Day:

1.) Take photos with your adorable puppy and share it to the world by using the hashtag #NationalDogDay on social media.
2.) Enjoy the Outdoors! Take a long walk at your’s dog’s favorite park. Enjoy the scenery, listen to the birds and/or feed the ducks in the pond while they quack a happy tune.
3.)  Pampered Spa will make any dog feel like royalty. Give your dog a grooming session, like a refreshing bath or brush your dog’s coat. It’s a PAWsome bonding time that will definitely make you and your dog smile.
4.) Take some time to make some homemade goodies for your dog — like these ones!

However you decide to celebrate this PAW-some holiday, make sure to give your dog extra love because today it’s all about them!
